A personal poetic anthology that narrates popular and peripheral day-to-day life and that extends to my personal experiences in the body of a black woman.
I am the Orisha of the Word
Libertarian warrior from a land of fire
daughter of the sea of blood that swallowed the bodies of my ancestors
I pray to my ancestors,
I plead to them,
I confide in them.
Woman of light
Woman of the moon
You wake up at night and sleep through the day.
I will lose my forms.
I will face a new terrain every year.
I leave open the roads I traveled
I leave in them the memory of who I was
I dream that the strength of their struggles will be recognized
and I keep hoping that a new world will open before their eyes
